吉澤和子（ハーバード大学博士) 略歴｜Kazuko Yoshizawa, Sc.D. Biography
グローバル・ヘルス & キャパシティ・ビルディング専門家 Global Health Expert & Capacity Building Specialist (Former Consultant to WHO, UN Expert, JICA Expert)。 ハーバード大学での研究経験を有し、栄養疫学や国際栄養の分野で活動しています。WHO、UNICEFなどの国際機関において、アジア・アフリカ諸国の栄養政策や公衆衛生プロジェクトに貢献してきた。
ハーバード大学博士研究ではWalter Willett教授の指導のもと、筆頭著者として３つの論文を発表した。1998年、セレニウムと前立腺がんの論文はJournal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI)で発表し引用回数は787（2025年）。また、エディトリアルで評価を受け、ニューヨーク・タイムズにも取りあげられ(UNICEF国際的に広く注目された。水銀と心疾患の研究は ニューイングランド・ジャーナル・オブ・メディシンに発表した。
博士号取得後、UNICEFやWHOなどの国際機関にて、専門職・コンサルタントとして、スーダン、リベリア、アフガニスタン、東ティモールの保健省で技術移転を行った。公衆栄養、感染症対策、キャパシティ・ビルディングに貢献した。UNICEFのテクニカル・オフィサーとしてアフガニスタン保健省の感染症サーベイランスを支援し、WHOコンサルタントとして各国の保健省で栄養改善プロジェクトを担当。スーダンでは保健省栄養アドバイザーとして、予算計画策定支援しスーダン保健省のニュートリション・サーベイランス・システムを提案した。また、2016年、WHOの招待を受け、東ティモール保健省栄養プログラムのために、日本のODAによるキャパシティ・ビルディングのプロジェクト・プロポーザルを策定。日本の大学・大学院で疫学、統計学、グローバル・ヘルス・ニュートリションを講義。
2017年から2023年まで、ハーバード大学客員研究員（Research Fellow）で6年間にわたり栄養疫学の研究を推進。研究テーマは食物摂取頻度調査（FFQ）の妥当性の検証。特にカロテノイドや脂肪酸の摂取量測定精度を高めるため、ハーバード大学が開発した新たな統計解析方法を用いて実施。研究成果は2020年および2022年に国際学会で、2019年に論文を発表した。プロジェクトのアドバイザーであるWalter Willett 教授の指導を受け研究を実施した。今後、詳細な検証を継続する予定。
