吉澤和子 略歴 Kazuko Yoshizawa Profile

研究者およびコンサルタント。専門分野はグローバル・ヘルス・ニュートリションおよび栄養疫学（栄養と生活習慣病）。2017-2023年にはハーバード大学公衆衛生大学院で客員研究員として活動し、コホート研究での食物摂取頻度調査（FFQ）の妥当性に関する研究を行った。1997年にハーバード大学公衆衛生大学院で栄養学博士号を取得し、指導教授はウォルター・ウィレット。博士論文では、米国の大規模コホート研究でセレニウムと前立腺がん、水銀と心疾患、セレニウムと心疾患について研究。また、コーネル大学で修士論文を執筆し、オックスフォード大学と中国コーネル大学の国際共同研究で心疾患と穀物摂取量の関係を検証した。

米国留学後、国連UNICEFプロジェクト・オフィサーとしてアフガニスタン保健省の感染症サーベイランスに従事し、その後、WHOの栄養改善プロジェクトのコンサルタントとしてアジアやアフリカの国々で活動。スーダンでは保健省の栄養アドバイザーとして、保健省のプロジェクト計画策定などに携わった。直近では、東ティモール保健省のための栄養分野キャパシティー・ビルディングのプロジェクト・プロポーザルを策定。このプロジェクトは日本国政府とWHOの援助によるものである。また、日本の大学・大学院で教鞭をとり、疫学、統計学、グローバル・ヘルス・ニュートリションの科目を担当。JICA専門家としては、カンボジア女性省およびミャンマー教育省にて技術移転を行った。

1997 米国ハーバード大学公衆衛生大学院 栄養学博士号　In 1997, Kazuko Yoshizawa earned a Doctor of Science (ScD) in Nutrition from the Harvard School of Public Health, with her doctoral dissertation titled “Trace Elements and Coronary Heart Disease and Prostate Cancer.” The dissertation was completed at Harvard University in Boston.
